NAHUM CHAPTER 1
- Revenge
Nah 1:1 The burden of Nineveh. The book of the vision of Nahum the Elkoshite.
Historically Nahum is prophesying of God’s wrath that is to come on Nineveh. Nahum is a follow up to Jonah. Jonah went to Nineveh and said “yet forty days and Nineveh shall be over thrown.” He was preaching for Nineveh to get right with God and they did. Jonah didn’t like this because he wanted to see the destruction of Nineveh. But what Nahum prophecies is actually what Jonah wanted. Nahum prophecies about the destruction of Nineveh.
So this is the “book of the vision” of Nahum the elkoshite. Today “books” aren’t very sought after. Especially Godly books. This book paints a bloody picture. It even says “it is a VISION.” Most people today are concerned with only a “teleVISION.”
The picture Nahum paints with words is dark, bloody, and much more scary than any horror movie put out by the directors and producers of “the conjuring” or “Insidious.”
Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
Jesus Christ and 10,000s of his saints are the REAL AVENGERS. Jesus Christ has the capabilities of all those super heroes rolled into one and then infinite times that.
This is a story of REVENGE. Romans 12:19 says “vengeance is mine, I will repay, saith the LORD.” There is no need for me to get vengeance on others when the LORD is about to have the evil man in a “HEAD LOCK.”
God is a JEALOUS GOD. Imagine if your wife had about 100 phone numbers in her cellphone and you weren’t in her favorites.
Exo 34:14 For thou shalt worship no other god: for the LORD, whose name is Jealous, is a jealous God:
I’m jealous over my wife. Someone might say “jealousy is his middle name.” And the LORDS name is JEALOUS. He will have a name written on his vesture and on his thigh “KING OF KINGS AND LORD OF LORDS.” Maybe he might even have a little sticker on the right side of his chest that says “Hello, my name is JEALOUS.” What your going to have at the second coming of Jesus Christ is the LORD opening up a can of about 6,000 years worth of jealousy.
Exo 20:4 Thou shalt not make unto thee any graven image, or any likeness of any thing that is in heaven above, or that is in the earth beneath, or that is in the water under the earth:
Exo 20:5 Thou shalt not bow down thyself to them, nor serve them: for I the LORD thy God am a jealous God, visiting the iniquity of the fathers upon the children unto the third and fourth generation of them that hate me;
Nah 1:2 God is jealous, and the LORD revengeth; the LORD revengeth, and is furious; the LORD will take vengeance on his adversaries, and he reserveth wrath for his enemies.
This is the real PUNISHER. “In him dwelleth all the fullness of the Godhead bodily.” The Godhead is the father, son, and Holy Ghost. So he is the “HOLY …GHOST RIDER.” Much more faster than being “gone in 60 seconds.” With ten thousands of replicas behind him. You better make sure your on a white horse behind him because it is really “ride or die” in this war.
Because the LORD revenge the, and is FURIOUS…
Nahum 2:3 says “the chariots shall be with flaming torches in the day of his preparation.”
That sounds like MOTOR VEHICLES…but the LORD has much more “horse power” than any vehicle made by man. His SUPERNATURAL horse is much more capable than any Tesla.so the LORD Revengeth and his furious. He is “Fast and FURIOUS.” Finally an ending to the STORY. There won’t be a SEQUEL because Nahum 1;8 says he will make “an UTTER END.”

- Raging Storm
Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power, and will not at all acquit the wicked: the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
Jesus Christ invented weather so it is obvious he has “weather manipulation.” Much more power than STORM from the X-MEN. Much more power than H.A.R.P.
He is “slow to anger.” He doesn’t need anger to “hulk out.” He is stronger than the Hulk even when he’s in a GOOD MOOD. This is why he is called “OMNI POTENT.”
What you have is a God that GETS ANGRY but he is “slow to anger.” He is so slow to anger that lost men think they are getting away with it.
Ecc 8:11 Because sentence against an evil work is not executed speedily, therefore the heart of the sons of men is fully set in them to do evil.
Your not getting away with anything. God is being “long suffering” but the STORM IS BREWING. The average person trusts the weather man more than they do a King James Bible. They trust a meteorologist more than the GOD that made the cloud over their head.
Nah 1:3 The LORD is slow to anger, and great in power,(he is omnipotent)and will not at all acquit the wicked:(he’s not going to clear your sins unless you believe on Jesus Christ) the LORD hath his way in the whirlwind and in the storm, (he has his way with a hurricane and a tsunami) and the clouds are the dust of his feet.
His feet have been through a lot. In eternity past he walked as “the ancient of days.” In Genesis he “walked in the garden in the cool of the day.” They stood on holy grounds as he talked to Joshua. They walked on the water. Mary washed them with her hair. They were pierced with nails. John said “they were like unto fine brass as if they burned in a furnace.” At the second coming they go STRAIGHT THROUGH THE CLOUDS…because John said “behold be cometh with clouds.” They are the “dust of his feet” on his way down to “thresh the heathen in his anger.”
Psa 58:10 The righteous shall rejoice when he seeth the vengeance: he shall wash his feet in the blood of the wicked.

What your dealing with is the most powerful being in existence. It’s not even close. Nobody can come close to GOD ALMIGHTY. What you don’t realize is that if your a Christian than you are his son. You have more than Abraham has. Abraham was called “the friend of God.” You and God are TIGHT. You have each others number. You can go into his house without knocking. You can come boldly to the throne of grace.
Nahum 1:4 says “he rebuketh the sea and maketh it dry.” It doesn’t matter if it there is double red flags up on the beach or if hurricane Sandy, Michael, Irma, and Katrina got together at once. The LORD can REBUKE the water as he did for Moses, Joshua, Elijah, and Elisha.

Bashan and Carmel is places the Jews will hide in the trib. A time of “languishing.”
An honest meteorologist at the end of the tribulation would say…It is “cloudy with a chance of white horses and a RAGING STORM”…and also…
- Rebukes in Fury
Nah 1:4 He rebuketh the sea, and maketh it dry, and drieth up all the rivers: Bashan languisheth, and Carmel, and the flower of Lebanon languisheth.
He can do a lot more with the sea than “aqua man.” Especially since he came through a “sea of glass” to get down here.
Hab 3:13 Thou wentest forth for the salvation of thy people, even for salvation with thine anointed; thou woundedst the head(the serpents head is bruised at the SECOND COMING) out of the house of the wicked, by discovering the foundation unto the neck. Selah.
Hab 3:14 Thou didst strike through with his staves the head of his villages: they came out as a whirlwind to scatter me: their rejoicing was as to devour the poor secretly.
Hab 3:15 Thou didst walk through the sea with thine horses, through the heap of great waters.
Those supernatural white horses will go straight through the great deeps up there.
Hab 3:16 When I heard, my belly trembled; my lips quivered at the voice: rottenness entered into my bones, and I trembled in myself, that I might rest in the day of trouble: when he cometh up unto the people, he will invade them with his troops.
Your going to see “REBUKES IN FURY.” When the “LION of the tribe of JUDAH” roars like a thunder storm that wakes you up in the middle of the night. Imagine the sounds of the second coming. As he REBUKES IN FURY..

- Raises Hell
Nah 1:5 The mountains quake at him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at his presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein.
The world loves to “raise hell” as they say. They go out at night and “raise a little hell.” So as a mockery to them the LORD will raise a little hell.
They want to get Jesus Christ drunk so bad they can’t stand it. They think the son of God would have a beer with them.
Psa 78:65 Then the Lord awaked as one out of sleep, and like a mighty man that shouteth by reason of wine.
Psa 78:66 And he smote his enemies in the hinder parts: he put them to a perpetual reproach.
He smites them in their “Hinder parts.” So he opens up a can of…
Isa 42:13 The LORD shall go forth as a mighty man, he shall stir up jealousy like a man of war: he shall cry, yea, roar; he shall prevail against his enemies.
Isa 42:14 I have long time holden my peace; I have been still, and refrained myself: now will I cry like a travailing woman; I will destroy and devour at once.
He’s coming at them like a TRAVAILING WOMAN. When a woman is in travail she don’t care if her make up is on, she don’t care to grab your arm and rip it off…the LORD will be COMING LIKE THAT. He’s going to destroy and devour at once.
Isa 42:15 I will make waste mountains and hills, and dry up all their herbs; and I will make the rivers islands, and I will dry up the pools.
See how all these prophets are telling you about the same events? He is coming to “raise hell.” Literally, “in flaming fire taking vengeance.” I looked up the name of “the Ghost riders” motorcycle and it is called “the Hell cycle.” It says “It was created by Mephisto as the steed of his bounty hunter the Spirits of Vengeance.”
I thought good night man can’t Hollywood or the comic book writers have an original thought? The LORD is basically on a HELL CYCLE threshing machine coming back in the “spirit of vengeance.”
2Th 2:8 And then shall that Wicked be revealed, whom the Lord shall consume with the spirit of his mouth, and shall destroy with the brightness of his coming:
Jesus Christ is coming back and will be what the bikers call “hell on wheels.”
Nah 1:6 Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.
Nobody can stand before him his indignation and anger.
His fury is “poured out like fire.”
Isa 30:27 Behold, the name of the LORD cometh from far, burning with his anger, and the burden thereof isheavy: his lips are full of indignation, and his tongue as a devouring fire:
Isa 30:28 And his breath, as an overflowing stream,
Rev 14:10 The same shall drink of the wine of the wrath of God, which is poured out without mixture into the cup of his indignation; and he shall be tormented with fire and brimstone in the presence of the holy angels, and in the presence of the Lamb:
There is a cup. The more a person or nation sins the fuller the cup becomes. Jesus Christ drank the cup when he was in the cross. He said “let this cup pass from me.” At the second coming the LORD takes the cup and turns it over and “his fury is poured out like fire.”
Nah 1:7 The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and he knoweth them that trust in him.
Wow. How grateful we should be that someone who can get so angry and has so much power…is ACTUALLY GOOD! We dodged an atom bomb. I don’t know if your life has had some hiccups like mine but this is a HUGE BREAK. God is ACTUALLY GOOD. As a lost person i thought my luck was so bad that there would be no way that GOD IS GOOD! But he is. There are two extremes. Atheists portray God as Mean and angry…that is true IN THIS CONTEXT HE IS!
But God is also LOVE and GOOD and LONGSUFFERING. The reason he is coming down mean and angry is because these people are the ones who rejected him. He’s coming down in vengeance and anger on men who are BLOOD THIRSTY KILLERS. These are bloody men. So he makes them drunk with it. He is going to RAISE HELL.
Jer 46:10 For this is the day of the Lord GOD of hosts, a day of vengeance, that he may avenge him of his adversaries: and the sword shall devour, and it shall be satiate and made drunk with their blood: for the Lord GOD of hosts hath a sacrifice in the north country by the river Euphrates.
Nah 1:8 But with an overrunning flood he will make an utter end of the place thereof, and darkness shall pursue his enemies.
Historically it is the end of Ninevah. Prophetically we are looking at the second coming.
What is man afraid of as a child? The dark. They will run from the LORD like a bunch of scared children when the power goes out in a STORM. Darkness will PURSUE them. Joel describes it as a “day of darkness and gloominess, a day of clouds and thick darkness.” He might even roar and scream “WHY ARE YOU RUNNING?” You loved darkness rather than light because your deeds were evil. Is this not what you wanted?
Nah 1:9 What do ye imagine against the LORD? he will make an utter end: affliction shall not rise up the second time.
The thoughts and imaginations of man’s heart is only evil continually. But Jesus “knowing their thoughts” has full knowledge of who is on his side. And he is going to make an UTTER END. This is the “end of the road” for the workers of iniquity. This is the happy ending that the movies used to show you. Just when you thought the hero was dead he comes through on a white horse. I don’t think western music will be playing but that is where they got the idea. To make you understand how devastating this event would be…if it weren’t so ungodly …HEAVY METAL music would be more fitting…maybe the song called “let the bodies hit the floor.” Because that’s what is going to happen to the men on the receiving end of this ATOM BOMB.
Nah 1:10 For while they be folden together as thorns, and while they are drunken as drunkards, they shall be devoured as stubble fully dry.
The mighty men will get folded up like the LORD Is making a paper football. They are “drunken as drunkards.” That is what is on the mind of this world anyways. Getting drunk. Getting LIT. They will certainly get both of these things. They say “we are just VIBING.” What in the world is that? Every few years they have to come up with a word for sitting back and not caring about anything hit themselves. The only way they will be “vibing” during this future event is when “the mountains quake.” They will feel the vibration. The new word I’ve heard, a kid will be listening to a song, and he’ll say “THIS SLAPS.” That song might slap but not as bad as Jesus Christ on a white horse IN YOUR FACE.
He is going to RAISE HELL. Fury will be “poured out like fire”. The HILLS WILL MELT and the earth will be burned at his presence according to Nahum. Imagine fire all over your body and in your face, your eyes, and your mouth. It will burn a lot worse than that digorno pizza you tried to eat right out of the OVEN. Honestly this day will be much hotter than what you cook your frozen pizza in.
Mal 4:1 For, behold, the day cometh, that shall burn as an oven; and all the proud, yea, and all that do wickedly, shall be stubble: and the day that cometh shall burn them up, saith the LORD of hosts, that it shall leave them neither root nor branch.
If this day is going to “burn like an oven” and Jesus Christ is called “the rock” in Matthew 16:18…this means you will really finally “Smell what THE ROCK is COOKIN.”
A lake of fire will be formed on this earth when Jesus Christ “raises hell.” This means when it is “cloudy with a chance of white horses” the LORD is going to show you the place..
- Reserved for the antichrist.
Nah 1:11 There is one come out of thee, that imagineth evil against the LORD, a wicked counsellor.
Historically it is the Assyrian Sennacherib. Prophetically it is the Assyrian the antichrist.
Notice that the antichrist is called a “counselor” to counterfeit Jesus Christ who is called “wonderful, COUNSELLOR, the mighty God.” (Isaiah 9:6)
Rev 19:20 And the beast was taken, and with him the false prophet that wrought miracles before him, with which he deceived them that had received the mark of the beast, and them that worshipped his image. These both were cast alive into a lake of fire burning with brimstone.
Nah 1:12 Thus saith the LORD; Though they be quiet, and likewise many, yet thus shall they be cut down, when he shall pass through. Though I have afflicted thee, I will afflict thee no more.
Nah 1:13 For now will I break his yoke from off thee, and will burst thy bonds in sunder.
He breaks the Assyrians bonds on the children of Israel.
Jer 30:7 Alas! for that day is great, so that none is like it: it is even the time of Jacob’s trouble; but he shall be saved out of it.
Jer 30:8 For it shall come to pass in that day, saith the LORD of hosts, that I will break his yoke from off thy neck, and will burst thy bonds, and strangers shall no more serve themselves of him:
Jer 30:9 But they shall serve the LORD their God, and David their king, whom I will raise up unto them.
The LORD has a place “reserved for the antichrist.”
The LORD not only prepared a place for the saints. He also prepares a place for sinners. Hell was prepared for the devil and his angels. The devil is cast into the same lake of fire the beast and false prophet are cast into. It has their name on it. They did some call ahead seating back when he rebelled and their table is READY. And it ain’t the LORDS table.
When it is “cloudy with a chance of WHITE HORSES”…they find out quickly that
- Resting In Peace Turns into No Rest Day Nor Night
This world has a funny idea that everyone who dies is “resting in peace.” When people claim 2Pac is still alive a lot of people come back and say “just let him REST IN PEACE.” They think everyone who dies was a child of God and in a “thugs mansion in heaven” as 2Pac rapped about. As far as we know 2Pac was not a believer in Jesus Christ. He talked about God but there are many false gods. Many times dead celebrities are remembered and their fans say R.I.P. But If these people are in hell than they aren’t having any rest day or night.
Rev 14:11 And the smoke of their torment ascendeth up for ever and ever: and they have no rest day nor night, who worship the beast and his image, and whosoever receiveth the mark of his name.
The LORD is going to turn this “resting in peace” philosophy into a “no rest day nor night.” There will no longer be the impression that everyone is going to heaven when they die. Hell is going to be a very well known and believed thing when Jesus Christ comes back.
Nah 1:14 And the LORD hath given a commandment concerning thee, that no more of thy name be sown: out of the house of thy gods will I cut off the graven image and the molten image: I will make thy grave; for thou art vile.
Look at that, “I will make thy grave.” For THOU ART VILE. That is Gods view of unregenerate man. That is Gods view of that celebrity you worship. He said they are VILE. Paul says your body is VILE. But during this event OUR BODY WILL HAVE ALREADY BEEN FASHIONED LIKE UNTO HIS GLORIOUS BODY.
And after this he will be….
- RULING WITH A ROD OF IRON
Nah 1:15 Behold upon the mountains the feet of him that bringeth good tidings, that publisheth peace! O Judah, keep thy solemn feasts, perform thy vows: for the wicked shall no more pass through thee; he is utterly cut off.
Jesus Christ is going to be “UPON THE MOUNTAINS” when he comes back.
Zec 14:4 And his feet shall stand in that day upon the mount of Olives, which is before Jerusalem on the east, and the mount of Olives shall cleave in the midst thereof toward the east and toward the west, and there shall be a very great valley; and half of the mountain shall remove toward the north, and half of it toward the south.
He is going to bring the “good tidings” of IM HERE AND IM KING. LINE UP OR LICK THE DUST. He is going to be ultimate ruler.
Rev 2:27 And he shall rule them with a rod of iron; as the vessels of a potter shall they be broken to shivers: even as I received of my Father.
Rev 19:15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God.
