The BLOOD OF Jesus Christ
- Cleansing BLOOD
Have you been to Jesus for the cleansing power are you washed in the blood of the lamb? Are your garments spotless are they white as snow are you washed in the blood of the lamb?
1 John 1:7 – But if we walk in the light, as he is in the light, we have fellowship one with another, and the blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanseth us from all sin.
His blood has the power to cleanse us of every sin. Whether it be in the past, present, or future. The moment you believed from the heart to salvation you were saved and cleansed by the blood of Jesus.
After we are saved the blood has the power to daily cleanse us of sin in the flesh. This has nothing to do with salvation, because we are already cleansed from sin in regards to that. This has to do with fellowship.
Some believe we get cleansing through the baptismal pool. Or that the blood is only applied when you are water baptized but the blood is applied the moment you believe the gospel.
His blood will purge my conscious. That means cleanse it and purify it. I need a daily self judgment. I need to confess my sins. Once again a daily confession of sins is not for salvation but for fellowship. If you have believed the gospel than you have every sin you ever committed and will commit taken away. However a daily confession of sins will clean up you walk and your thought life.
Hebrews 9:14 – How much more shall the blood of Christ, who through the eternal Spirit offered himself without spot to God, purge your conscience from dead works to serve the living God
Revelation 1:5 – And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
It is CLEANSING BLOOD.
If you’re not saved than you have all of your sins still applied to your record. If you come to Jesus Christ as a guilty sinner than they will all come out in the wash. They will be gone and forgotten.
Revelation 1:5 – And from Jesus Christ, [who is] the faithful witness, [and] the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
- POWERFUL BLOOD
We don’t need some catholic priest to get us forgiveness. We can go straight into the throne room. We have a great high priest that died for us. As long as we have the blood we can approach God
Hebrews 10:19-22 – Having therefore, brethren, boldness to enter into the holiest by the blood of Jesus,
Our mind can be warped from the sinful and dark things we have seen in this life. But the blood of Jesus Christ can cleanse your mind of wicked things. Sometimes it’s good to pray Lord wash my mind from all the wicked things I’ve seen. Maybe before you got saved you watched wicked movies and listened to wicked music. Maybe your mind still plays those same Ac/dc songs or Eminem songs over and over. Or maybe you have watched horror movies and those gruesome murder scenes flash in your mind. Ask God for a cleansing of the mind by the blood of Jesus Christ.
But not only does the Bible call it cleansing blood. It is also.
- Shed Blood
Matthew 26:28 – For this is my blood of the new testament, which is shed for many for the remission of sins.
Jesus Christ willingly shed his blood to pay for our sin debt. He laid down his life for the sheep. He had power to lay it down and power to take it up again. He volunteered to pay for the sins of mankind.
The blood had to be shed. They couldn’t have drowned him. They couldn’t have simply suffocated him. He had to die by shedding his blood.
Hebrews 9:22 – And almost all things are by the law purged with blood; and without shedding of blood is no remission.
- Redeeming Blood
Hebrews 9:12 – Neither by the blood of goats and calves, but by his own blood he entered in once into the holy place, having obtained eternal redemption [for us].
Redeemed means to buy back.
Act 20:28 Take heed therefore unto yourselves, and to all the flock, over the which the Holy Ghost hath made you overseers, to feed the church of God, which he hath purchased with his own blood.
Eph 1:14 Which is the earnest of our inheritance until the redemption of the purchased possession, unto the praise of his glory.
I am a purchased possession. The LORD bought me when he died on the cross and I accepted the payment.
Jesus Christ is the SAVIOUR of ALL MEN. The problem is that most men won’t ACCEPT THE BLOOD PAYMENT.
2Pe 2:1 But there were false prophets also among the people, even as there shall be false teachers among you, who privily shall bring in damnable heresies, even denying the Lord that bought them, and bring upon themselves swift destruction.
The Lord died for every Christ hating God rejector. But they reject the bloody payment.
Colossians 1:14 – In whom we have redemption through his blood, even the forgiveness of sins:
Eph 1:7 In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace;
- Blood that delivers from wrath
1Th 1:10 And to wait for his Son from heaven, whom he raised from the dead, even Jesus, which delivered us from the wrath to come.
Rom 5:9 Much more then, being now justified by his blood, we shall be saved from wrath through him.
I don’t have to face the wrath of God. When Jesus Christ shed his blood on Calvary he took my place. God poured out the cup of wrath on the Lord Jesus Christ. Every sin ever committed was put on the Lord Jesus Christ. All of God’s anger for these sins was dropped on Jesus Christ.
2Co 5:21 For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.
1Pe 2:24 Who his own self bare our sins in his own body on the tree, that we, being dead to sins, should live unto righteousness: by whose stripes ye were healed.
Jesus Christ was my substitute and he appeased the wrath Of God.
1 John 2:2 – And he is the propitiation for our sins: and not for ours only, but also for the sins of the whole world.
Now that God sees the blood on my record I’m saved from death. I’m saved from the horrible thing God was going to do to me. Just like when God saw the blood on the door posts he passed over his people in Egypt.
Exodus 12:13 – And the blood shall be to you for a token upon the houses where ye are: and when I see the blood, I will pass over you, and the plague shall not be upon you to destroy you, when I smite the land of Egypt.
Those Old Testament saints couldn’t get their sins taken away because Jesus hadn’t shed his blood yet. Those sacrifices couldn’t by no means clear the guilty but it could get them temporary forgiveness until they sinned again.
Hebrews 10:4 – For [it is] not possible that the blood of bulls and of goats should take away sins.
They could get atonement with God through those sacrifices. But it isn’t like the blood of the lamb slain from the foundation of the world.
Leviticus 17:11 – For the life of the flesh [is] in the blood: and I have given it to you upon the altar to make an atonement for your souls: for it [is] the blood [that] maketh an atonement for the soul.
The blood of Jesus Christ is my atonement. It made me “at one” with Jesus Christ.
That is why it is blood that makes peace.
Col 1:20 And, having made peace through the blood of his cross, by him to reconcile all things unto himself; by him, I say, whether they be things in earth, or things in heaven.
Sin was between me and God but now that I have the Blood I am made nigh. That means we are close in fellowship. We are related by blood and I’m a son of God. His blood put me in the family. I’m a child of the king.
I was a member of the Adam’s family and had the curse of sin. Now I’m a member of the last Adam’s family and I’m not under the curse anymore.
Eph 2:13 But now in Christ Jesus ye who sometimes were far off are made nigh by the blood of Christ.
- Overcoming Blood
Revelation 12:11 – And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb, and by the word of their testimony; and they loved not their lives unto the death.
1Jn 4:4 Ye are of God, little children, and have overcome them: because greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world
If you have the blood on your soul than you have something that the devil can’t take away. You have something that causes you to be inseparable from God.
The blood is what makes your victorious and gives you the power over anything that could think of as a threat.
Rom 8:37 Nay, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him that loved us.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
