Fear of snakes
Job 26:13 By his spirit he hath garnished the heavens; his hand hath formed the crooked serpent.

This is the fear you NEED.
- if people had this fear it would keep them out of trouble.

Godly fear will keep you from straying from Him. Just like fear of your parents kept you from disobeying them.
Heb 12:5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him:
Heb 12:6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth.
Heb 12:7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not?
Heb 12:8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons.

- Just as you feared your EARTHLY father you should fear God. You run to them for safety but you also fear their belt.
God has your breathe and heartbeat in his hands.
Job 12:9 Who knoweth not in all these that the hand of the LORD hath wrought this?
Job 12:10 In whose hand is the soul of every living thing, and the breath of all mankind.
Heb 10:31 It is a fearful thing to fall into the hands of the living God.
Heb 12:29 For our God is a consuming fire.

- If you fear him than you’ll do what he says.
- What he says ain’t that bad. Don’t commit adultery, lie, cheat, steal, kill, talk to him.

- Noah was a “preacher of righteousness” because he feared God.

You should have a HEALTHY FEAR OF authority or the police.
Rom 13:3 For rulers are not a terror to good works, but to the evil. Wilt thou then not be afraid of the power? do that which is good, and thou shalt have praise of the same:
Rom 13:4 For he is the minister of God to thee for good. But if thou do that which is evil, be afraid; for he beareth not the sword in vain: for he is the minister of God, a revenger to execute wrath upon him that doeth evil.
- NO FEAR WHEN YOUR ON THE LORDS SIDE.
Deu 31:6 Be strong and of a good courage, fear not, nor be afraid of them: for the LORD thy God, he it is that doth go with thee; he will not fail thee, nor forsake thee.
- he’s not like someone that when trouble comes you look back and they left.
Jos 10:25 And Joshua said unto them, Fear not, nor be dismayed, be strong and of good courage: for thus shall the LORD do to all your enemies against whom ye fight.
Lev 26:8 And five of you shall chase an hundred, and an hundred of you shall put ten thousand to flight: and your enemies shall fall before you by the sword.
- if the lord is on your side it’s like having an infinite number of people.
People can be encouraged by your fearlessness
Php 1:14 And many of the brethren in the Lord, waxing confident by my bonds, are much more bold to speak the word without fear.
- When people saw Paul go to prison for preaching it made them more bold. If Paul can do it than they can.
- If a Christian sees you reading the Bible than it makes them bold enough to read the Bible.
Pro 3:25 Be not afraid of sudden fear, neither of the desolation of the wicked, when it cometh.
- sometimes fear hits you suddenly.
- Remember all this world can do is kill the body but not the soul. If your saved than “to be absent from the body is to be present with the LORD.”
Pro 3:26 For the LORD shall be thy confidence, and shall keep thy foot from being taken.
- You can let your feet hang out from under the covers.
- sometimes I was afraid to let a foot hang out…but if your saved unclean spirits can’t even touch your soul.
Rom 8:38 For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come,
Rom 8:39 Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
FEAR YOU SHOULDNT HAVE
- FEAR FROM THE FLESH, MEN, AND THE DEVIL
- most people are afraid of what men can do to them. They are afraid of not doing what their flesh wants.
Pro 29:25 The fear of man bringeth a snare: but whoso putteth his trust in the LORD shall be safe.
Mat 10:28 And fear not them which kill the body, but are not able to kill the soul: but rather fear him which is able to destroy both soul and body in hell.
Rev 2:10 Fear none of those things which thou shalt suffer: behold, the devil shall cast some of you into prison, that ye may be tried; and ye shall have tribulation ten days: be thou faithful unto death, and I will give thee a crown of life.
He says not to be afraid of the things in the tribulation.
Mat 24:5 For many shall come in my name, saying, I am Christ; and shall deceive many.
Mat 24:6 And ye shall hear of wars and rumours of wars: see that ye be not troubled: for all these things must come to pass, but the end is not yet.
Mat 24:7 For nation shall rise against nation, and kingdom against kingdom: and there shall be famines, and pestilences, and earthquakes, in divers places.
Mat 24:8 All these are the beginning of sorrows.
Mat 24:9 Then shall they deliver you up to be afflicted, and shall kill you: and ye shall be hated of all nations for my name’s sake.
